Toddler and Preschool Fall Craft Ideas

Fall Trees

1. Cork Printed Leaves Tree Craft                          (Toddler and Preschool)

Tree created by tracing hand on brown paper. I used round foam marshmallows instead of corks.


Materials:
1. Orange, yellow, brown, and red tempera paint
2. White construction paper
3. Brown construction paper
4. Paper plates for paint
5. Foam marshmallows or corks


Instructions:
1. Trace hand on brown construction paper.
2. Cut it out, and glue it on the white construction paper.
3. Use form marshmallows or corks to add spots of red, yellow, brown, and orange to branches for leaves.








2.  Tree Craft with Lentils and Beans for Leaves                   (Preschool)

I had the children paint a tree on construction paper and use red, yellow, brown, and orange lentils and beans for the leaves. 








3. Toothbrush Painted Fall Tree                             (Toddler and Preschool)

Materials:

1. Red, orange, yellow, and brown paint
2. Paper plates
3. White construction paper
4. Paint brushes
5. Toothbrushes


Instructions:
1. Cover one hand with brown paint.
2. Press into middle of white piece of construction paper for branches.
3. Use paint brush to add trunk below the branches.
4. Press toothbrush into orange paint. 
5. Splatter paint onto branches.
6. Repeat with yellow and red paint.

4. Apple Collage Craft                                   (Preschool)

I modified this idea for an apple collage from https://www.artycraftykids.com/art/easy-apple-collage-craft/.  I ran an apple template on white cardstock. I provided torn out pages from magazines for the children to cut red, green, or yellow pieces from. They could then glue red, yellow, or green beads, buttons, pom poms, ribbon, etc on top of the magazine scraps.

5. Apple Stamping Craft              (Toddler and Preschool)

Materials:
1. Red, green, and yellow paint
2. Large sheets of paper
3. Paper plates
4. Pre-cut leaves
5. Twine for stems
6. Black paint for seeds
7. Thin brushes (dip other end in black paint)





6.  Coffee Filter Apple Suncatchers                           (preschoolers)

Materials:

1. Coffee filters
2. Spray bottle of water
3. Tempera paints in yellow, red, green, and brown
4. Paint brushes
5. Markers
6.  9 inch paper plates
7. Scissors
8. Tape
9. Black beans (for seeds)
10. Blow dryer (to help dry coffee filter)

1. Color coffee filter with markers. Spray with water. Set aside to dry.
2. Cut out middle of paper plate. Paint rim of paper plate red, yellow, or green.
3. Cut leaf and stem out of middle of paper plate. Paint the leaf green and the stem brown.
4. Once the coffee filters is dry, use tape to tape it to the back of the paper plate.
5. Glue three beans to middle of coffee filter.




7.   Contact Paper Apple Suncatchers                              (Toddler and Preschool)

3. Regular size hole punch

8.  Leaf Art Craft                          (Preschool)

The children can make leaf people, leaf animals, etc. 


Materials:

1. Variety of leaves 
2. Large sheets of paper
3. Tacky glue
4. googly eyes















9. Leaf Collage Art                             (Toddler and Preschool Art)

I brought in a variety of leaves. Children selected leaves to glue on, and they chose the color of construction paper they wanted to glue their leaves on. After the leaves were glued on, the children could paint glitter glue on them.

11.  Pool Noodle Pumpkin Craft         (Toddler and Preschool)

I modified a craft from toddlerapproved.com. We added real pumpkin seeds to the inside of each pumpkin.

Materials:
1. White construction paper
2. Orange and green paint
3. Pool noodle sliced into sections
4. Pumpkin seeds
5. Paint brushes
6. Paper plates for paint
7. Liquid glue




12.  Learning about What's Inside a Pumpkin Craft        (Preschool)

I modified craft from https://alittlepinchofperfect.com to make it more accurate.


Materials:
1. Paper plates
2. Green construction paper
3. Green pipe cleaners
4. Pumpkin leaf template
5. Orange paint
6. Paint brushes
7. Clear contact paper
8. Orange yarn
9. Pumpkin Seeds
10. Orange tissue paper
11. Glue gun
12. Scissors

Follow the basic instructions on the site listed above. Run pumpkin leaf template on green paper. Cut out the pumpkin leaf. Cut out a pumpkin stem from green construction paper. Use a green pipe cleaner as the vine. Glue one end of the pipe cleaner to the stem. Cut a three inch piece of pipe cleaner. Use a hot glue gun to attach the pumpkin leaf to the end of this piece. Glue this piece onto the whole pipe cleaner.




13. Lego Stamped Pumpkin        (toddler and preschool)

I modified a craft from https://www.craftymorning.com/ to make it more accurate.
Materials:
1. White cardstock
2. Orange paint
3. Green paint
4. Green pipe cleaners
6. Large LEGOS
7. Small LEGOS
8. Paper plates
9. Glue gun
10. Scissors
11. Glue stick
12. Pencil

Instructions:
1.  Print out a copy of the pumpkin leaf template on white cardstock.
2. Put some orange paint on a paper plate, and let the child dip a large LEGO into it. Have him or her stamp it all over a piece of white cardstock. 
3. Draw a pumpkin shape on the white cardstock that has been stamped. Cut out the pumpkin. Use the leftover paper to cut out a pumpkin stem.
3. Cut out a pumpkin leaf from the template. Put some green paint on a paper plate, and let the child dip a small LEGO in it. Have him or her stamp it all over the leaf and the stem.
4. Help the child glue the stem to the top of the pumpkin.
5. Use a glue gun to attach a green pipe cleaner to the top of the stem for a vine. 
6. Glue the leaf to the pumpkin vine.
