Preschool Storytime

In my preschool storytime, I encorporate Spanish words. For all the songs between the opening and closing songs, we sing the song first in English, and then we change some words to Spanish, I give all parents a copy of the words to the songs. I used to be a kindergarten teacher so I consider my preschool storytime to be kindergarten preparation. I select and preread about 8-9 books for each preschool storytime. I let the children pick which three of these we read. The ones listed are the three we read.

Opening song:  (Tune: "The Farmer in the Dell")

                         We tap hola like this
                          Hi-ho cherry
                          We tap hola like this

                          Continue with other verses:
                          We drop hola like this...
                          We circle hola like this...
                          We spin hola like this...
                          We toss hola like this...
                           We spin hola like this...

Craft Time:

We always do rainbow writing. I still put out the dot pages, but they are optional to complete. I model completing the rainbow writing and the dot page. You can find the free rainbow writing letters hereYou can find these dot pages here.

I model the craft, and then parents help their children complete it.
