4. DIY Coasters   (Toddler and Preschool)

The left square is a tile from Home Depot. The middle square is the cardstock. The third is the cardstock on top of the tile.

Materials:
1. White cardstock cut into 4 inch squares
2. 4.25 inch square tiles from Home Depot
3. Watercolor paint sets
4. Markers
5. Brushes
6. Markers
7. Mod Podge
8. Clear acrylic sealer
9. Felt for bottom of tile (any color)
10. Glue gun

Note:
I did not make an example because I wanted the children to come up with their own ideas.

Instructions.
1. Give each child a 4 inch square of cardstock to paint and/or decorate with markers. I told them they could draw a picture or just do a design.
2. Let the cardstock dry.
3. Mount the cardstock square on the tile using mod podge.
4. Paint 2 or 3 coats of Mod Podge on top of the cardstock square. Let each coat dry before adding another coat.
5. Cut four one inch pieces of felt. Use the glue gun to glue these to the bottom side of the tile. Put one in each of the corners.
6. Spray or coat a clear acrylic sealer over the top of the Mod Podge to make the coaster waterproof.
