1. Turkey Wreath Craft (Preschool)

Materials:3. Red construction paper (for snood)
4. Orange construction paper (for beak)
5. Googly eyes
6. Watercolor markers
7. Scisors
8. Glue
9. Patterns for beak and snood (optional)
10. White cardstock
11. 9 inch paper plates
12. yarn or string (optional)
Instructions:
1. Run copies of feathers template and turkey template on white cardstock, If desired, can run copies of beak and snood patterns on white cardstock too.
2. Color one turkey body and approximately 20 to 25 feathers as desired.
3. You can either color one snood and one beak after running off the templates on white cardstock, or you can cut out your own beak from orange construction paper and a snood from red construction paper.
4. Cut out the turkey body, the feathers, the beak, and the snood,
5. Cut out the middle of a paper plate following the line of the circle that is imprinted on the plate.
6. Arrange the feathers to overlap, pointing upwards, around the entire circle with them meeting in the middle of the top of the wreath.
7. Glue them in place.
8. Glue the turkey body at the bottom of the wreath.
9. Glue two googly eyes, the beak and the snood in place on the turkey.
10. If desired, attach yarn or string to the back of the wreath to hang it up.
2. Turkey Place Mat (Toddler and Preschool)
1. 11 x 17 white or beige construction paper or copy paper
2. Tempera paint in a variety of colors
3. 6 inch paper plates to put paint on
4. Foam brushes
5. Googly eyes
6. Brown construction paper for turkey body
7. Tan, white, and yellow construction paper choices for head
8. Orange construction paper for beak
9. Red construction paper for snood
10. Pale pink or gray construction paper for legs and feet
11. Scissors
12. Glue
13. Paper Edgers Scissors (optional, to trim around paper)
14. Poster board or 11 x 17 brown construction paper to mount mat on for durability
15. Black marker to write name and year
Notes:
1. See source for step by step instructions. Allow the child to pick the colors of feathers as well as the color of the head and legs.
2. Allow the child to write his/her name and the year if capable. An adult can write the year on a piece of paper for the child to copy.
3.After the mat is finished, an adult can make a border by trimming all four sides of the sheet of paper. Then mount the finished mat on a thick piece of poster board cut to size or an 11 x 17 piece of brown construction paper. Then laminate the place mat.
3. Thumbprint Turkery Card Craft (Preschool)

1. Paint in variety of colors for feathers
2. Brown paint for body of turkey
3. Markers
4. Words such as mother, father, grandma, grandpa, I love you, and Happy Thanksgiving displayed for the children to copy
5. Thumb for turkey body
6. Index finger for feathers
7. Sponge brushes for children that don't want to get paint on their fingers.
8. 6 inch plates for paint
9. Googly eyes
10. Glue
Instructions:
1. Make a small row of four or five feathers with color of your choice.
2. Make two additional rows of feathers using colors of your choice.
3. Make the body with a thumb print in the middle of the smallest row of feathers.
4. Glue on googly eyes, and use finger to make a beak using yellow or orange paint.
5. Use orange marker to draw legs and claws.
