1. Super Squished Monster Craft (toddler and preschool)

Materials:
1. White cardstock
2. Googly eyes
3. Tempera paint in variety of colors
4. Googly eyes
5. Black construction paper for mouth
6. White construction paper for teeth
7. Pom poms in variety of colors for spots
8. Pipe cleaners for arms
9. Glue gun
10. Liquid glue
11. Scissors to cut out mouth and teeth
Instructions:
1. Fold the piece of white cardstock in half.
2. Unfold the piece of paper, and pour a small amount of paint in the crease.
3. Fold the paper again and squish the paint around. Be careful that the paint doesn’t leak out of sides of the paper.
4. Unfold the paper and let the paint dry.
5. After the paint dries, glue on googly eyes.
6. Cut the mouth out of black construction construction paper, and glue on the monster. Cut teeth from the white construction paper, glue to the mouth.

2. Monster Hand Craft (toddler and preschool)

1. Various colors of construction paper (both for background and for hand)
2. Various colors of craft foam (for claws)
3. Various colors of yarn (for hair)
4. Beans and lentils (for warts and bumps)
5. Googly eyes
6. Scissors
7. Glue
8. Pencil for tracing hand
9. Option not shown: children could use Kraft Edgers scissors
*I let the children use any color of construction paper for the background as well as any color for the hand. They could also choose any color of yarn for hair as well as any color of craft foam for claws. The children also had the option of using Kraft Edgers scissors to cut out the hand once it was traced.

8. Select desired color of pipe cleaner for arms. Push the pipe cleaners through one hole, and then pull through the middle into the corresponding hole on the opposite side.
9. Bend and twist arms as desired.

4. Straw Blown Monsters (preschool)

Instructions:
1. Water down your chosen color of paint.
2. Drip a large blob of paint onto the paper.
3. Blow the paint out from the center of the blob in different directions.
4. Repeat with other colors of paint.
5. Let the paint dry.
6. Add as many eyes to each monster as you want.
7. Use the black marker to give each monster a mouth.
5. Frankenstein Paper Plate Craft (preschool)

4. Cut two bolts out of black construction paper. Glue one to each side of his neck.
5. Cut a mouth of the black construction paper. Glue on to the papr plate.
6. Glue on two googly eyes.
7. Draw a nose with the green marker.
8. Draw a scar on his forehead. Draw other scars if desired.

9. Masking Tape Mummy (toddler and preschool)
Materials:
1. Black cardstock
2. Masking tape
3. Googly eyes
4. White crayon
5. Scissors
Steps:
1. Print off copy of template.
2. Cut out template.
3. Trace onto black cardstock using white crayon.
4. Cut or hang strips of tape on table for child to use.
5. Allow child to place strips of tape on outline of body as desired.
6. When he or she is finished, cut out mummy on lines.
7. Glue on googly eyes.

1. Place a pumpkin template underneath a sheet of wax paper. You can tape the wax paper to the paper to keep them together.
2. Pour the glue into a shallow tray. Add a little water to the glue.
3. Roll the strand of yarn around in the glue mixture until it is fully covered.
4. Layer the yarn inside the pumpkin template until the template is completely covered.
5. Repeat process with green string for the stem. Add extra glue where the green and orange strings touch.
6. Cut out a simple face from black construction paper or use a face template. Place eyes and mouth onto the wet string.
7. Let it dry for a couple of days. Carefully peel off the wax paper.

11. Coffee Filter Jack-o'-Lantern (toddler and preschool)
Two ways to do it:

2. Green construction paper (for stem)
4. Liquid watercolors or watercolor paints in red, yellow, and orange (1st option)
5. Red, orange, and yellow watercolor markers and a spray bottle of water (2nd option)
6. Blow dryer (to quickly dry coffee filter)
7. Scissors
8. Glue stick
Note: Using watercolor paints with water works just as well as using liquid watercolors. Simply spray the coffee filter with water before starting to paint.
