Flowers/Garden Crafts for Toddlers and Preschoolers

1.  Sponge Painted Flower Craft           (Preschool)

Materials:
1. Sponges cut in various shapes
2. Various colors of paint
3. Brushes
4. Paper plates for paint
5. White construction paper
6. Sunflower seeds
7. Yarn for roots
8. Labels for parts
9. Glue
10. Scissors










Instructions:
1. Dip a square sponge in brown paint for the dirt.
2. Dip a rectangular sponge in green paint for the stem.
3. Dip a moon shaped sponge in green paint for the leaves.
4. Various shapes of sponges can be used for the petals. The petals can also be any color desired.
5. Once the petals are formed, put seeds in the middle of them.
6. Put a seed at the base of the stem. Add roots below the seed.
7. Label the parts.

*You could do this craft with toddlers by not doing the labeling.

2. Sunflower Craft Using a Paper Towel Tube              (Toddler and Preschool)

2. Paint

Instructions:

1. Paint paper plate.

2. Once dry, cut paper plate along outer rim to separate inner circle.

3. Cut outer section into separate pieces to make petals.

4. Glue petals to circle.

6. Bean/Lentil/Seed Art                                (Preschool)

Materials:
1. Construction paper
2. Beans in a variety of colors
3. Lentils and/or seeds in a variety of colors
4. Glue
5. Pencil


Instructions:
It is helpful to first draw out a shape, design or name, and then cover the pencil lines with lentils, beans, and/or seeds.
